Your information

Privacy and your choices

Last updated: 21 October 2026. Consent wording version: 1.

This is an independent Save Banchory-Devenick School community campaign. It is not operated by Aberdeenshire Council or the school. The campaign manages the information you send through this website. You can contact the campaign about your information using our contact form.

Support registrations

We collect your name, email address, phone number, connection to the school or local community, any optional area and message you provide, your support declaration, and your choices about email and WhatsApp. Wix records the submission date and time. We use this information to record and manage support and to organise the campaign. Please register only for yourself, and only if you are aged 18 or over.

Registering here does not send an official consultation response to the council. Your individual registration and contact details are not published on this website. Campaign reports may describe overall levels of support without identifying individual supporters.

Contact enquiries

We use your name, email, message and any optional phone number, connection or attachments you provide to deal with your enquiry and respond to you. Sending a message does not subscribe you to campaign updates or add you to a WhatsApp group.

Email updates and WhatsApp

The support form provides two separate, optional choices. We use your email for campaign news, meeting reminders and ways to help only if you select the email option. We use your phone number to add you to the campaign WhatsApp group only if you select the WhatsApp option. Neither is preselected or needed to register support.

If you join WhatsApp, other group members can see your phone number and may see your profile information according to your WhatsApp settings. The campaign organiser arranges group membership separately; submitting the form does not automatically add you. WhatsApp processes information under its own privacy policy.

You can withdraw permission using our contact form, by asking the campaign organiser, or by replying to a campaign email. You can leave the WhatsApp group at any time. Withdrawing permission does not affect how information was used before you withdrew it. We may retain a minimal record of your preference so we can respect it.

Where information is held

Form submissions, attachments and contact details are stored in the campaign’s Wix account and accessed by authorised campaign organisers. They are not displayed publicly. Wix provides the website hosting, form service and technical security checks. If you choose WhatsApp, your number and group activity are also processed by WhatsApp. These providers may process information outside the UK; their privacy policies explain their international processing arrangements.

We use information for this school campaign and your enquiry, rather than adding you to unrelated business mailing lists. Please do not include children’s names, dates of birth, health information or private information about other people in a message or attachment. Please redact documents and photos before uploading where needed.

Keeping and correcting your information

We keep information while it is needed to handle your enquiry, manage the campaign or maintain your contact preferences. When it is no longer needed, it should be deleted or made anonymous. You can ask the campaign to access, correct or delete your details, or to stop contacting you, through the contact form. Please identify the email address used for your original submission.

If you are concerned about how your information has been handled, contact the campaign first. You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Technical information and external services

Wix may process technical information such as IP address and browser details to deliver and secure this website. The forms use browser storage for a Wix visitor session so they can submit your response. The campaign’s form code does not save your typed answers in browser storage. This site does not include campaign advertising or analytics scripts.

Fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives the technical information needed to deliver them. See Wix’s privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy.

The council survey opens on Engage Aberdeenshire. The council handles any information submitted there under its own privacy notice. Copy and share buttons use your browser’s clipboard or sharing feature; they do not submit a survey response to the campaign.
